About the AHWFDC

Group Hug

The Coalition is organized by the Office of Health Care Workforce Development Department at AHCCCS, the AzAHP and includes members from the eight AHCCCS Managed Care Organizations (MCOs). This group represents ACC, ALTCS, DCS CHP, DES/DDD and ACC-RBHA lines of business. Each line of business has an Alliance. Together we ensure that initiatives across the state of Arizona align with all lines of business Provider needs, AHCCCS & Health Plan policies, and statewide regulations.

We’re glad you are here.

Health care professionals, the human beings behind our healthcare system, are a vital asset to improving health equity, access and outcomes within our communities. Ensuring that our Arizona healthcare workforce is capable and equipped with resources to develop their skill, knowledge and abilities needed to address today’s issues, while preparing for future capacity is important to sustainability, and is a critical function of WFD. This is accomplished through an integrated focus on Commitment, Culture, Connectivity, Capability and Capacity, (also known as the Five (5) C's outlined in our mission below) in connection with unique stakeholder collaborations.

Mission

To evaluate, monitor, and support the development of the Five (5) C's of our provider workforce leading to a competent workforce that is capable of producing optimal member outcomes.

About the Alliance(s)

Each Alliance, comprised of all the AHCCCS health plans, serves to promote a shared provider network while collaborating with the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS), the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), and the Department of Child Safety Comprehensive Health Plan (DCS-CHP) to drive long-lasting and effective change in Arizona's workforce.
